Hey guys!
As promised, here is a powerpoint with some information about the legal side of photography.
Enjoy!
The British Heart Foundation are holding their first annual Digital Photography Competition. Here are the details;
The theme of the competition is Red for Heart and the winning images will be showcased as part of National Heart Month in February. There are some fantastic prizes to be won, including the once in a lifetime opportunity for a one-day shoot shadowing an award winning Getty photographer for the winner of the Student category.
There will also be an exhibition of the finalists as part of the National Heart Month launch outside the London Eye, and a selection of the winners also be published in the Independent on Sunday Newspaper. We are directing people to bhf.org.uk/redphotos to find out more and to enter. Closing date for entries is 6th January 2010 and we have a fantastic team of judges to select the winners.
I promised to attach the document I have that has some generic poses for models, but it is too large, so you can download it here: Poses. It is useful for simple stuff, and then you can use your imagination to add to the poses
Hope you guys find it helpful.
By default, jonopye is the winner of this week’s competition. Congratulations jonopye! Instead of a week for voting, start taking photos for the current competition, ‘Black and White’, or next week’s competition, ‘Landscape’.

Hello my lovelies!
Hope you’ve all had a great weekend
Soooo this week’s newsletter includes, as always, a multitude of exciting things:
Workshop:
This week the models and photographers will be coming together for a photoshoot! The models will be practising the poses they learnt during last week’s meeting, while the photographers will be learning how to direct the models to get the desired pose.
This workshop will be on Tuesday 24th at 6.30pm in Keynes, Seminar Room 16. Apologies to those photographers who cannot make it, as we will be having no meeting on Wednesday due to the Love Your Body campaign photoshoot.
Love Your Body Campaign
This Wednesday, the society is taking part in the Love Your Body campaign, and we will need your help!!
Models who assist will help make those getting their photos taken feel confident about having their photo taken, while the photographers will help take the photographs. The shoot is going on between 11am and 4pm in Rutherford Bar, you may come at any time and stay for as long as you can!
Models, you can also take this opportunity to get some good portfolio pictures so make sure you dress appropriately!
Trips:
London Photography Exhibition Tour – this Saturday, 28th November, we will be heading to London to view different photographic exhibitions on display around London. We will be travelling on the train so it will cost about £25 without a rail card, and about £16 with one. This includes tube travel. More details will be given out closer to the time, but expect to be leaving fairly early in the morning!
Please bring a packed lunch and your student cards. If you plan on travelling via another means then let us know and we will let you know where to meet up with us. There will be another newsletter with details about the trip in a few days!
Competition: This week’s winner is ‘Purple Crown’ by jonopye – congratulations!!
Next week’s topic is Macro.
Big love,
